For 6-12 year olds
Like humans, zoo animals need new challenges and experiences to keep them mentally and physically at their peak.
Mogo Zoo is offering six workshops in the April school holidays. These focus on designing and making enrichment toys for animals to maintain their natural behaviours and instincts.
Meerkat Manor
Tuesday, 15th & 22nd April, 9am - 12pm
In this workshop the children will be involved with the keeper in the planning and assembling of a 3D meerkat manor that will include challenges and treats for the meerkats.
Endangered Animals
Wednesday, 16th & 23rd April, 9am - 12pm
In endangered animals, children will learn about some of the planet's most rare creatures. Children will then create activities for the cotton-top tamarin family & observe how the little monkeys react to the new activities.
Snow Leopard Search
Thursday, 17th & 24th April, 9am - 12pm
In the snow leopard search, children will construct natural looking enrichment items for the snowies. They will learn about how these animals survive in the wild and about their natural food sources.
Bookings are essential as numbers are strictly limited.
Please phone (02) 4474-5130 or visit the zoo reception.
The cost is $25 and includes zoo entry. Please bring your own hat, sunscreen, morning tea and water. Please arrive 10 minutes early to the workshop.
Not only will you get a chance to interact with these beautiful creatures and to provide stimulating activities for them, but also you will get a chance to check out Mogo Zoo's newest babies.
