NOT A CREATURE WAS STIRRING……not even a tiger
Thelma and Louise have left for Perth Zoo.  Their journey has taken them up through Wagga, across the Hay Plains to Mildura then through Crystal Brook to Port Augusta, Kimba to Ceduna – then straight across the Nullarbor to Perth Zoo.

In our December update we will have pictures of their journey with Bill and Sally and more details of the logistics involved in moving two large Tigers across the country.  Our picture shows the size of their “pet packs”

As you can see, life at Mogo Zoo is pretty relaxing!!!!

Mogo Zoo’s newest additions continue to give great pleasure and, because of their uniqueness, have created a greater awareness of the plight of endangered species.  There is one male named Tim and two females called Snow and Bella. The white lion cubs also have Zulu spiritual names, Magigwana, Nkungwe and Jabulani.

White lions hold a legendary and mythical status where from times long ago, storytellers spoke of these unique animals and painted them into their visual stories.  It was not until 1975 that the white lion was actually known to exist.

“As icons of South Africa’s rainbow nation, the White Lions are radiant symbols of African pride and the richness of our cultural heritage.  They should be venerated and protected as such.  Only once this continent’s White Lions are released from captivity and bondage, will the great spirit of Africa be truly liberated once more”.
